Soffits and fascias are coverings primarily designed to protect the lower end of the roof trusses from exposure to the elements, as well as access for unwanted vermin, insects, and other creatures from infesting and even hibernating in your roof.

However, despite this, it is also essential that your soffits and fascias also simultaneously provide sufficient ventilation to the structure. This is to prevent condensation from forming, which can lead to timber rotting and decaying, which over time, weakens the integrity and can lead to larger problems such as damp infiltrating your home

Tucked away under your fascia is your soffit board. This is the board that is usually visible from the street level

• Lack of ventilation
• A build-up of pests, insects and other vermin
• Water in the roof
